The jar is covered on the interior and exterior with a lead glaze; the exterior of the jar has been colored with irregular patches of manganese black and copper green. The inverted mark "WEST HARTFORD" is impressed on the jar just below the shoulder. There are light scratches to the glaze on the exterior of the jar. The glaze has rubbed or chipped off much of the top edge of the rim, and there is one large chip in the rim.
