DescriptionBirds-eye view of a small town. Two cows are near low bushes in the left foreground. Nearby buildings include farmhouses and their outbuildings, one with a large wood pile and a long split rail fence. A train consisting of a locomotive engine, a coal tender, and two passenger cars is pulling into a railroad station. A road crosses a river on a covered bridge. On the far side of the river are two small industrial buildings, possibly mills. Identical housing lining the road beyond may be mill housing. Two buildings with square towers in the town center are probably churches. Additional frame buildings line the streets of the town. At the far left is a large factory with a smoke stack. In the background are fields, wooded hills, and an orchard. Clouds are in the sky. Birds fly overhead on the right.
