DescriptionUncased ninth plate daguerreotype of Emily Gale, probably taken after her first husband, Charles Hopkins Bronson died, and possibly after she married her second husband, William Sampson.

She is in at least her mid-30s. She is wearing what appears to be a dark-colored cape (or other outer garment in a similar cut to a cape) over a similarly dark-colored bodice. She is wearing a white lace collar. Her hair is parted in the middle and fashioned into wings that cover her ears.
