DescriptionBust-length sixth plate daguerreotype of Elizabeth Brinley, taken by an unknown photographer when she was in her late 20s or early to mid-30s. She is wearing what appears to be a robe (perhaps a kimono or kimono-like garment) with very generous sleeves and a deep v neck, the clasp or belt out of view. Beneath the robe is a white garment. Her hair is parted in the middle and pulled back, her ears entirely visible.
