DescriptionWoman's petticoat of white cotton, with cording incorporated into the weaving. The cording is woven closely together for a depth of 13 1/4 inches around the bottom of the skirt; it is spaced about one inch apart for the next 16 1/2 inches. The petticoat is machine-stitched into the waistband so that it is smooth in front and gathered across the back. The side seams, which are joined selvage-to-selvage, are hand-stitched. The center back opening extends 9 1/2 inches; there is no visible means of closure.
