DescriptionInfant's dress of white cotton with a woven plaid pattern. The dress has a high, round neckline trimmed with scalloped whitework embroidery under the neckline binding. The dress has a plastron front and back, made of plain, white cotton sewn in narrow, vertical tucks. The plastron is edged with scalloped whitework embroidery. The dress is gathered into the bottom edge of the plastron at both front and back. The openings of the two-piece sleeves are edged with whitework, which is turned back. The bottom of the dress is edged with a 2 1/4-inch-wide ruffle of eyelet embroidery. The dress opens at center back for eight inches and fastens with two mother of pearl buttons in the area of the plastron.
