DescriptionInfant girl's long white dress. It has a yoke across the front and back, constructed with alternating vertical rows of ruched self-fabric and bands of whitework embroidery. The high, round neckline is edged with bobbin lace. The sleeves are cut like a coat sleeve with an upper and lower seam; they are set smoothly into the armscye, which is piped. The wrist openings are edged with scalloped whitework embroidery. Extending the length of the skirt center front is a panel consisting of ruched self-fabric flanked by bands of whitework embroidery. The bottom of the skirt is decorated with six rows of narrow tucks above the one-inch-deep hem. The hem is edged with flat whitework embroidery, scalloped and worked with a diagonal bars pattern, matching the embroidery in the rest of the dress. The center back opening is about 8 1/2 inches long and fastens with two small mother of pearl buttons on the yoke.
