DescriptionInfant dress of cream-colored, fine, plain-woven cotton, with a yoke decorated with vertical pin tucks alternating with insertions of eyelet embroidered bands. The sleeves are long and straight, and slightly gathered into the shoulder. The bottom of the yoke, neckline, and wrist openings of the sleeves are edged with narrow bobbin lace. The bottom of the long skirt is decorated with five horizontal rows of pin tucks on either side of an eyelet-embroidered insertion. A 3 1/2-inch flounce of eyelet embroidery finishes the bottom of the skirt. The opening of the dress is at center back; a placket hides two buttons on the yoke. Below this, the skirt was intended to be open for 6 1/2 inches, but has ripped open for an additional 12 1/2 inches.
