DescriptionA man and a woman are dancing in the interior of a ballroom. She wears a dress trimmed with ruffles, a bracelet, and a wreath of leaves, probably laurel leaves. He wears a coat, vest, shirt, trousers, and white tie. He has a beard. Drapery with fringe and tassels is at a window in the left background, beside a column on a high base. A large mirror in an ornate frame is above an upholstered sofa. The base of a sconce or lighting fixture is visible to the left of the mirror. The floor boards are laid in a herringbone pattern.
