DescriptionInfant's shirt of white cotton. The shirt is made by folding a rectangle of fabric in half, forming the shoulderline. The neckline is cut out so it forms a wide, slightly rounded, square. This edge is faced with cotton tape, through which a drawstring is inserted. The sides are cut in a large notch-shape so that the bottom edge is flared and short sleeves are formed. Each side seam has a 2 1/8-inch vent, reinforced with closely worked buttonhole stitches at the top. The seaming is done by whip-stitching together the narrow-hemmed edges of the sides.
