William L. St. Onge

BiographyWilliam Leon St. Onge was born on 9 October 1914 in Putnam, Connecticut. He graduated from Tufts University in 1941 and enlisted in the United States Army in 1942, serving in the Army Air Corps in North Africa and Europe, and was discharged in 1945. He then attended the University of Connecticut School of Law at Hartford in 1948, and was admitted to the bar in 1948. Starting in 1948, he practiced law in Putnam, and served as a judge of the probate court from 1948-1962. He was mayor of Putnam from 1961-1962. St. Onge was elected to Congress from the 2nd District in 1962, serving until 1970. He died on 1 May 1970 in Groton, Connecticut.
