DescriptionSixth plate ambrotype of Anna Eugenia ("Esther Ann"), taken when Anna was perhaps 20 or 25 years old. She is wearing a dress (tinted blue) with a low, lace-trimmed neckline, bell-shaped sleeves that end above the elbows, a bow around the waist, and a full skirt. The sleeves are decorated with open, lacy circles (embroidered?) and worn with undersleeves with lacy circles that complement the ornament on the sleeves.
Her hair is parted in the middle and pulled back, and she is wearing ribbons in her hair. Her jewelry includes drop earrings, a large pendant, possibly a cameo, on a thin chain necklace, and two different kinds of bracelets. One looks like a hairwork bracelet. She is also wearing lacy mitts and holding a tiny handbag in her left hand.
The backdrop is a painted shoreline scene, with a large tree behind Anna's right shoulder, and ships in a harbor on the right edge of the frame. Anna is sitting in a chair, one of its spindles visible behind her. Her left hand is resting on a table.
