DescriptionInfant's shirt of white cotton, with a wide, rounded neckline and short sleeves. The neckline is trimmed with narrow, scalloped bobbin-type lace. The sleeves are trimmed with a ruffle of very fine, sheer cotton edged with bobbin lace. The shirt opens at center back. The shoulder seams are faggoted. The body and sleeves are cut as one piece. Seams are flat-felled.

Lydia Huntley Sigourney had a son, Andrew, who died in 1850 at the age of 19. These clothes may have belonged to him.On View
