DescriptionPressed colorless glass paperweight consisting of a rectangular glass block with curved edges and corners. The bottom surface of the paperweight is recessed; the edge of the recess is serrated and gilded. A black and white photograph is applied onto a piece of paper that fits into the recessed area. This photograph shows a monumental three-story brick building with a hipped roof and projecting central and end porticos. The building is on top of a hill, and portions of additional buildings are to the right. Below are the white words, "CONNECTICUT SCHOOL FOR BOYS, MERIDEN CONN." The top surface of the paperweight has some light scratches, and the photograph may be separating from the glass.
