DescriptionWine glass made of blown and cut colorless non-lead glass. The wine glass has a plain rim, thin tapered sides, and a tapered stem. It has a band of cut flutes around the bowl. The tapered stem has a ring, or knop, at the top, and it widens at the bottom to meet the round foot. The bottom of the foot has a polished pontil mark.
Pontil mark: A rough place on a blown glass object where the solid metal rod, or pontil, is cracked off the object after final shaping and decoration. Pontil marks can be polished to achieve a smooth surface.
