DescriptionWine glass made of blown colorless lead glass. The wine glass has a plain rim, a bucket-shaped bowl with tapered sides, a stem with a ring, or knop, in the middle, and a circular, flat-bottomed foot with a polished pontil mark in the center. A pattern cut into the sides of the wine glass alternates between a rondelle, or a circle with a tapered pattern of vertical lines above, and what is known as a strawberry-diamond motif. A strawberry-diamond consists of an oval with a diamond in the center decorated with cross hatching. A spray of straight lines in the shape of a fan is located above each strawberry-diamond. There are only one or two light scratches on the bottom of the wine glass. Four spots of an unknown brown substance are adhered to the bottom of the wine glass.

Pontil mark: A rough place on a blown glass object where the solid metal rod, or pontil, is cracked off the object after final shaping and decoration. Pontil marks can be polished to achieve a smooth surface.
