DescriptionLarge, thin-walled, light grey stoneware bowl with a mottled purple, blue, and green glaze. The bowl has a plain rim and sides that taper gently down to a circular foot ring with an inset bottom. The bowl is glazed with a glossy, polychrome glaze with the colors purple, red, blue, and a light blue green. The maker inscribed his name on the bottom of the bowl, "Lum[an]/ [Kels]ey".

MarkingsThere are three labels adhered to the bottom of the bowl. The first is a rectangular cloth label with the hand-written attribution, "L. P. Kelsey/ North Canton Conn". The second is a square paper label with the letters "SOLD" hand-written in dark black ink or paint; the letters run off the edge of the label. Finally, a small, white rectangular label with the numbers "43-1906" is stuck to the bowl with yellowing clear tape.On View
