DescriptionSmall-mouthed redware preserve jar with a cylindrical body, narrow neck, and a flared rim that supports a fitted lid. The interior of the jar (.a) is coated with a lead glaze, and much of the exterior is as well, with the exception of the bottom two inches of the jar. Several irregular patches of manganese black have been applied to the jar and lid. The circular lid (.b) is flat and has a small disc-shaped finial in the center. A string is tied around the neck of the jar. There is crazing over all the glazed surfaces of the jar, as well as minor scratches to the glaze, consistent with use over time.
