DescriptionRound, redware bowl with a clear lead glaze and manganese black decoration. The bowl has a flat, round foot and sides that swell gently then form a flat, rolled rim. The lead glaze was applied to the interior and the exterior of the bowl, with the exception of the foot and bottom inch of the sides of the bowl, which is left unglazed. Several irregular areas of manganese black decoration were applied to the inside of the bowl below the rim and to the exterior of the bowl at the sides.
There are two two-inch cracks running from the rim down the side of the bowl. In addition, there are many light scratches over all the surfaces of the bowl. These scratches have worn down the glaze at the rim and interior of the bowl at the bottom. There is light crazing over all the glazed surfaces of the bowl.
