DescriptionSixth plate daguerreotype of Merritt Bronson by R.D.O. Smith, taken in 1854 when Bronson was about 25. Bronson is wearing a jacket, a white shirt with a stiff, upturned collar, and a necktie. His hair is curly and worn long at the top. His facial hair consists of long sideburns that extend to the edges of his chin and stop.
