DescriptionSixth plate daguerreotype of Mary Jane Bissell (probably taken after she married Merritt Bronson in 1855). She looks to be about 30 years old. She is wearing a dress with a deep v neckline over a chemisette with a ruffled collar. A brooch with hand-applied gold tinting is fastened to the chemisette just below the collar. Her hair is parted in the middle and fashioned into wings above her ears.
