DescriptionHalf length portrait of Ednah Dow Smith Cheney (1841 - 1915) as an adult. She is seated angled to the left but is facing towards the camera. Ednah is wearing a bodice that has velvet trim down the front and at the cuffs. There are decorative buttons down the front as well. She appears to be wearing a large cross necklace or brooch. Her hair is crimped or rolled at the front and styled in a large braided bun at the top of her head.
