DescriptionThree-quarter-length portrait of a standing woman wearing a low-cut dress and a shawl trimmed with lace. The edge of an undergarment, possibly a chemise, is visible at the neckline. A rose is attached to the bodice, and she holds another rose in her left hand. Her jewelry includes two bracelets and a necklace of pearls or beads. A small pendant hanging from the second strand appears to have been drawn or retouched by hand. Patterned drapery held back by a cord is at the right. Patterned wallpaper is on the wall at the left. A seaport with sailing vessels and a steamship in the harbor is visible through a window in the left background.
