DescriptionHalf-length portrait of a woman seated in an interior. She wears a dress with long puff sleeves trimmed with lace. Her jewelry includes a brooch and a necklace with a hanging pendant. She has a single small flower in her hair. She holds the cord of her necklace with the index finger of her right hand. Her left hand rests on papers that are scattered across the top of a table. One sheet has floral patterns on it. A bouquet of flowers, including roses, is also on the table. A plaid shawl is draped across the woman's left arm. Patterned drapery is in the right background. Patterned wallpaper is on the wall. A lake, sailboats, and a house are visible through a window in the left background.
