DescriptionWoman's dress of orange synthetic fabric, coarsely woven to create a linen-like appearance. It is a simple sheath dress with a wide, round neckline at front and back, and it is sleeveless. It is fitted in front with two seams, which curve from the center front of the armhole and then fall straight to the hem. There is an in-seam pocket on each side below the waist. The dress has a center back zipper opening. The zipper was stitched by hand ("picked"); it does not come all the way to the top, but stops 5" below the neckline edge, forming a V. The lining of the dress, which is orange poly/cotton, is set in by hand. The edge of the skirt is finished with binding and then turned up and hemmed. There are two woven tape labels stitched onto the lining in the back: "J.J.Jones / PALM BEACH / NEW YORK" and 'paulinetrigere" (in script, with the two names run together). There are thread tabs and snaps inside the top of the shoulders for holding the bra straps in place.
