DescriptionMan's shirt of white cotton, with a heavily starched U-shaped bib across the chest, which is made of white cotton woven with a narrow rib; it is lined with a coarser grade of cotton.The bib has two buttonholes worked in it for accepting decorative studs. The shirt opens for the length of the center back and fastens with two mother of pearl buttons. The narrow band collar fastens at the center back with a stud, and the center front is worked with a buttonhole for fastening a separate, starched collar. The shirt is constructed with a narrow yoke across the shoulders, which has a narrow tape loop stitched vertically across the yoke on the proper left side of the opening. The long sleeves are stitched smoothly into the armscye. They end in 3 3/8-inch-wide cuffs which fasten with studs; the placket above the cuff fastens with a mother of pearl button.
