DescriptionMan's shirt of fine white linen. The shirt is constructed with a narrow yoke across the shoulders and a standing band collar, which has a buttonhole worked at the center back for attaching a separate starched collar. A 17-inch-long, U-shaped bib of vertically pleated, starched self-fabric covers the chest. The shirt opens the length of the front and is worked with four pairs of buttonholes in the bib and collar for fastening with studs. The front and back shirt panels are stitched smoothly across the bottom of the yoke and the shoulders. The shirt is cut with rounded corners at the lower side seams; a gusset is inserted at the top of the side seam vent. The long sleeves are stitched smoothly into the armscye. They end in 3 3/8-inch-wide, heavily starched cuffs which fasten with studs; the placket above the cuff fastens with a mother of pearl button. A narrow linen tape loop is stitched vertically over the center back of the shirt yoke.
