DescriptionBlack felt top hat with a black grosgrain hatband, which is one-inch-wide and has a half bow on the proper left. The brim is edged with black grosgrain ribbon. The leather sweatband is 1 3/4 inches wide. The hat is lined with cream-colored cardboard. The brim is almost flat. The crown flares out ever so slightly at the top when viewed from the front, but angles in when viewed from the side. The crown's circumference remains 22 1/2 inches from base to top.

InscribedStamped in center of inside crown top, black on white: Large crest with crown and many heraldic emblems, surrounded by a garland with a medal hanging down. Beneath this is the word, "BROADWAY."
