DescriptionMan's robe (.a) of black rayon woven with a swirling design in red. The robe has a shawl collar of black rayon satin. The long, two-piece sleeves end in turned-back cuffs faced with the black satin; the cuffs are notched at the outside of the wrist, with one side of the cuff stitched into the outer seam of the sleeve. The robe has a welted breast pocket on the proper left side, and a welted pocket on each side at about hip level in front. The welting of the pockets is done in black satin. The center front opening extends for the length of the robe and fastens with a black plastic button and black satin buttonholed tab which extends from under the proper left side of the opening. The robe is lined with red rayon satin and has a heavy interlining of unidentified material in the collar, extending down the front opening edges, which are faced with the black satin.
A long sash (.b) of black rayon satin can be tied around the waist. The sash is fastened to the robe with buttons on the sides, under the belt loops. Black cord knots with fringe decorate the ends of the sash.
