DescriptionMan's smoking jacket of burgundy cotton velvet, with a shawl collar of black faille (ribbed weave fabric, possibly of a synthetic fiber). The jacket has a welted breast pocket on the proper left side and a pocket over each hip in front. The jacket fastens with a single button at the base of the shawl collar; the button is covered in the black faille. The two-piece sleeves end in turned-back cuffs of the black faille, with curved notches at the outside of the wrist. The jacket is vented for 9 1/2 inches at the lower center back; it is lined with red rayon satin. There is satin ribbon loop stitched at the back of the neck for hanging.
