DescriptionMan's single-breasted suit coat (.a) made of a dark grey wool (or wool and nylon), fine herringbone. The front closure has three grey plastic buttons, with a fourth buttonhole worked in the proper left lapel. The coat front has three exterior pockets: a slashed, flap pocket on each lower side and an upturned welt pocket at the proper left breast. The lower right pocket has a small, interior patch pocket within it. Shaping is formed by a dart on each side running from the armscye to the top of the pocket. The back is constructed with a vented center back seam, and one side back seam on each side. The coat sleeves are two-pieced, with a 2 1/8-inch vent at the cuff in the back seam. Each cuff has two grey plastic buttons that are smaller than those of the front closure. The coat is half-lined with a black rayon (or perhaps polyester) fabric. The exposed back seams are finished with tapes of the black fabric. There is a double-welt breast pocket in each side on the lining.
Man's cuffed, plain-front pants (.b) made of a dark grey wool (or wool and nylon), fine herringbone. The front closure has a metal zipper and flat, metal trouser hook at the waistband. There is a single, white, plastic button to close the interior flap at the top; this button is stitched to the proper left side. The 1 1/2-inch-wide waistband has six belt loops. The center back seam of the waistband has a short (3/4-inch) slit stitched into it. There is a pocket stitched into each side seam, one welted slash pocket in each side back (the proper left having a button closure), and a watch pocket in the waistband seam on the proper right side. All the pockets are made from a white twill-woven cotton; this fabric also lines the waistband. The pants are unlined; all the seams are finished with machine-stitched overcast stitching. The cuffs are just over 1 1/2 inches wide.
