DescriptionMan's vest of cream-colored silk brocade with a pattern of scattered leaves on a background of dots. The vest has a long collar similar to a shawl collar, but cornered. The lower front edge of the vest is slightly dipped. The center front fastens with five self-covered buttons. There is a slanted breast pocket on the proper left side, along with a 4 3/4-inch-wide pocket on each lower side. The backing fabric is polished white cotton. Two strips of this fabric, punched with eyelets, are sewn on the back. A lacing of cotton tape adjusts the fit. The vest is lined with plain, undyed cotton.
