DescriptionBoy's short pants of cream-colored satin, made to look "colonial" by the addition of decorative buckles at the outside of the knee. The pants have a button fly front and have white porcelain buttons stitched around the waist for attaching the suspenders. There is no waistband. The pants are fitted in the back with darts. The pants are fully lined with plain, white cotton.

MarkingsA old dry-cleaners tag that had been attached to the pants reads: "R-5998".NotesHistorical Notes: According to museum records, these pants were made as part of an early American or Colonial costume. The other parts of the costume were a black velvet coat, a blue velvet coat, and a satin vest (1966.118.1-.3).
