DescriptionInfant's dress of white cotton, with a high-waisted bodice worked with bands of eyelets. The wide, square neckline is controlled by a drawstring. The short sleeves are gathered into the shoulder and around the armscye. The top of the sleeve is inserted with a band of eyelet embroidery. The sleeve opening is edged with fine eyelet and bobbin lace. The skirt is gathered by whipping it to the bottom of the bodice. The bottom of the skirt is bordered with ruched self-fabric, gathered into inset vertical bands of eyelet embroidery. The dress is open all the way down the center back. These edges and the bottom edge are trimmed with eyelet embroidery and drawn threadwork. The dress closes with double drawstrings at the neckline and waistline.
