DescriptionVery small infant's dress of white cotton. The high, round neckline has a band collar made of whitework embroidery in a grid pattern, edged with bobbin lace. The bodice is gathered into the neckline and into the waist, which is defined by a strip of whitework insertion, with pairs of elongated eyelets for lacing a ribbon. The long sleeves are gathered into the shoulder and into cuffs made of the grid-patterned embroidery trimmed with bobbin lace. The center back opening is 8 1/2 inches long and fastens with two small mother of pearl buttons and one metal hook and eye at the neck. The long skirt is gathered into the waistband. The bottom of the skirt is decorated with three bands of bobbin lace insertion, alternating with self-fabric bands embroidered in a featherstitch in a chain pattern.
