DescriptionTwo men, three women, a girl and two small boys seated outside around a small table. One man is elderly, has a beard and mustache and a cane and appears to be reading a newspaper. A throw pillow is beneath his chair. The younger man wears a suit, vest and bow tie. The elderly woman has eyeglasses around her neck and holds a magazine. The two younger women are sewing or doing needlework. The two small children sit on an oriental rug. Both wear knickers. One boy wears a sailor suit and holds a kitten. A framed portrait photograph is on the table. A rocking chair is at the left. A hammock is at the right. Vines, including ivy and grapevines, grow on the wall and porch of a brick house in the background.
