DescriptionWoman's hat of black velvet, with a dome-shaped crown and brim that is narrow at the back and 4 1/4 inch deep at center front. The brim is not stiffened, but falls in soft folds around the face. A tubular self-fabric bow decorates the proper right lower side of the crown. The crown is lined with black rayon. Black grosgrain ribbon edges the opening. Stitched to this ribbon is a woven tape label that reads: "G. FOX & CO. / EST. 1847 HARTFORD" and "22 1/2."
