DescriptionWhite cotton dress for an older infant or toddling child. The yoke of the dress is in a star shape, with insertions of crochet lace around the edges and between each pointed section. The fabric of the yoke is stitched with pintucks. The sleeves are about 7 1/2 inches long, and are decorated with pintucks flanking an insertion of crochet. Each sleeve is gathered into the top of the armscye and into a cuff of crocheted lace. The armscyes are piped. The skirt of the dress is pleated into the yoke. The skirt is decorated like the sleeves, with a band of crochet insertion flanked by pintucks above the 3 1/2-inch-deep hem. The dress opens at center back for about eleven inches. It fastens with four small mother of pearl buttons and thread loops in the area of the yoke.
