DescriptionGirl's dress of white cotton with a square neckline bordered by whitework embroidery in a geometric design. The dress is box-pleated into the neckline border and into the shoulders and falls straight to the hem. The dress opens under the leftmost pleat and fastens with buttons which are hidden under the pleat. The sleeves are short and are gathered at the shoulder. The sleeve openings are bordered with the whitework band. The back of the dress is also box-pleated into the neckline border. There are belt loops mounted on the sides.

NotesHistorical Notes: Judith and Janet Sessions were twin sisters, born in 1901. They were the daughters of Albert Sessions. Janet died as a child, in 1908. The family owned J. H. Sessions & Sons, a company producing metal fittings, that opened in 1854. James Sessions is the only company in Bristol still being run by the same family after six generations.
