DescriptionInfant's shirt of fine, white linen. The shirt has a low, rounded neckline and center front opening. The shoulder seams are flat-felled and edged with delicate pulled thread work. The sleeves are gathered into the shoulder. They have a gusset at the underarm. The sleeve opening hems are edged with drawn thread work. The underarm seam is open for 1 1/8 inches and hemmed to the outside, indicating that the sleeves would be turned back to create a cuffed effect. The neckline is also hemmed to the outside, which was probably just a mistake.
