DescriptionA woman wearing a dress with a lace collar, a belt with a large buckle, a brooch, a cloak decorated with tassels, and a bonnet decorated with ribbons, is seated an a wall of square dressed stones. She holds a framed miniature portrait of a man in her left hand. A dog, apparently a hound dog, wearing a collar, stands beside her gazing out to sea. Two sailing vessels are in the right distance. A fortress or castle is in the left background.
