DescriptionView of balloon in the air over Winsted, Conn., 3050 feet from the earth. In the car were Moore, Aeronaut, and Doughty, Photographer, together with several hundred pounds of special photographic apparatus, philosophical instruments and balloon paraphernalia. It was from this point and at this time that view no. 3 was taken, thus giving an illustration of a balloon at a given height, and a view of the earth from the balloon at the same height. / These are the first and only successful views ever taken from a balloon.
