DescriptionView of a portion of Winsted, Conn., taken from the balloon 3,050 feet from the earth...Although we are at this time less than three quarters of a mile high...it is impracticable with the naked eye to distinguish any animal life in the view below unless it be in motion..../ These are the first an only successful views ever taken from a balloon. Shows the Still River and the dwellings, roads and industrial buildings along it.
