DescriptionWoman's white cotton chemise with a high waistline defined by an insertion of Irish crochet lace. The bodice front has two panels of hand-embroidered whitework flowers, flanked by strips of Irish crochet. The top is edged with the crochet, with a pale peach silk ribbon woven through it. This same ribbon is used for shoulder straps. The skirt is lightly gathered at the waist. The skirt is underlaid with a separate 25-inch-deep, self-fabric lining. It is slit for six inches at the sides and is decorated with a flounce with more whitework separated by Irish crochet at the center front. The flounce is headed by an insertion of crochet, woven through with the silk ribbon, tied in bows at the sides. The flounce is edged with crochet.
