DescriptionView of the Henry Whitfield House or Old Stone House, in Guilford. Whitfield, a minister of the Church of England, led the first settlers to Guilford in 1640. Two-story house with irregularly-spaced windows and a massive chimney. Fences appear in the foreground and background. A note to the left among the trees reads "Apple trees," and a note along the top reads: "Chimney all white / about 5 or 6 rods from street."
