DescriptionSilk shoes with the vamp made of brocade with a large purple flower and the quarters and heel covered with possibly the same brocade, but showing mostly a white-on-white pattern and yellow or blue flowers at the back. The latchets show only white. The tongue is wide and square, the toe is oval, and the heel is a Louis style. The leather sole is continuous over the front of the heel. The silk upper is lined with plain-woven linen and bound with white silk tape. A white kid rand surrounds the front of the shoe between the vamp and the sole. The shoes are straight, not right and left.
