DescriptionWoman's fine white cotton combination undergarment. The center front of the camisole top is open and fastens with seven small mother-of-pearl buttons (two missing, two replacements) and a drawstring around the waist; the opening continues around the crotch, which has no fastening. The leg openings are scalloped and finished with a buttonhole stitch in white mercerized cotton thread. The camisole top is sleeveless. The low, scooped neckline is also scalloped. Simple floral vines are embroidered on either side of the front. Eyelets are worked around the neckline; these would have originally accomodated a ribbon drawstring. Eight pintucks are taken at the waistline on either side of the opening. They are released to provide fullness to the camisole front. The legs are gathered where they meet the camisole at center back.
