DescriptionChild's copper lusterware mug with hand-painted floral decorations on a field of orange. After the mug was formed by a mechanical molding process, the handle was molded and applied to the body. The mug has a band of copper luster at the foot, rim, and handle. This was done by applying gold luster over a dark orange or brown slip, creating the look of copper. A band of orange slip, overpainted with floral decorations in gold luster, decorates the middle of the mug.
There is some crazing on the mug and a few light scratches all over, but a greater concentration at the foot.
