BiographyArnold Henry Guyot was born on 28 September 1807 in Switzerland. He emigrated to the United States in 1848, settling first in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In 1854, he was appointed professor of physical geography and geology at Princeton University. He died in Princeton, New Jersey on 8 February 1884.
