BiographyThede Ann Pomeroy was born in Wallingford, Connecticut, on 18 October 1814. She was the daughter of Judge Elisha Miner Pomeroy (1786-1864) and his first wife, Lydia Matoon Pomeroy. She married John Howard Cooke on 13 October 1830 in New Haven, Connecticut. They had four children: Albert, Charles, William, and Stella.
